As much as I like the new reels from Diesel
, the Trailmaster is a cheap (but excellent) rod and as such is much happier with a good but cheapish reel to go with it. As it happens, Eagle Claw makes just the thing...
The Brave Eagle reel is just the right weight and size for the Trailmaster and it's well suited for the sort of abuse that we boat-bound fly-fisher folk put our knockabout rods/reels through. Throw some affordable on sale 5 weight line and some backing (no reason to get silly) on it and you're ready to go...
Oh yeah, did I say it was cheap at $20?
