Someone recently asked me about the Shaka breakdown carbon polespear from JBL Spearguns...
To tell you the truth it does look kind of sweet, it's well made, and it certainly packs down to a very stowable size.
Carbon certainly has the advantage of a kiss more speed in delivering the business end to the intended prey. Though, on the other hand, it's not as tough as my tried and true Ray Odor spear or all that much faster than my Gat Ku and it is certainly quite a bit more expensive.
I suppose it all depends... If you are considering a Plus-$200 spear like the Riffe, you might want to take a real serious look at the JBL Shaka but, to tell you the truth, an over $200 polespear is simply just a little too rich for my needs.
